At Diversity Dance Studio, we value CONNECTION, along with the dancers’ potential, ability, talent, and goals. We work hard to cultivate a community environment that is intimate and provides as much individual attention on the dancer and family as possible.

The dancer and the family have to feel like DDS is a fit for their next dance home. We, at Diversity, also have to feel like it’s a good fit - the energies will mesh and be cohesive with our positivity driven environment.

Instead of Company Try-Outs :

• When a dancer / family is interested in becoming a part of DDS, we prefer to start with an open conversations with our Owner and directors and the dancer and parent.

• We then invite the dancer to a trial class or personal technique evaluation. (See Tuesday, June 10th!)

What goes in to an Invite :

• We have ONE Company with CASTING for the different routines to best serve the dancer, their challenge, goals, and the artistic vision of the routine(s).

• If your dancer WANTS to work with us, we work hard (though can’t promise) to find a position for them in our Company.

• If the FAMILY wants to connect in our community and place value on supporting the team as a whole, we work hard to find a position for your dancer in our company!

• We accept Company placement through AUGUST.

We cast the dancers in routines that we feel like they can :

• conquer confidently

• be challenged in

• push them out of their box

• and hopefully fulfill their excitement

• challenge the dancer in technique, in artistry, in team triumphs and then in personal triumphs.

As a family, you can the choose to accept all or a selection of the casting opportunities.

• Casting is not decided by particular levels or assigned groups.

You can request a solo your first year! We look for dancers (with the support of their families) who we think :

• Will put in the hard / extra work

• Continue to place the priority on their team and group routines

• Have the emotional and mental maturity to go on stage in a solo and feel confident!

• We will announce when we have another round of one-on-one meetings in July.
